In December 2017 we formed a further partnership with Berkshire Community Foundation, yet again we have had a wide breath of applications, supporting local organizations such as: Older People’s Activities in Caversham a club for the over 50s in the Caversham area with a particular focus on those at risk of social isolation. The club provides a two-course hot lunch with refreshments on tap throughout the day as well as a variety of activities designed to promote physical and mental well-being, such as seated yoga alongside a signposting and informal befriending service. Members either live alone or, in the case of the 8 couples on roll, share a home with a partner they care for. Many have mobility and other health problems which prevent them from being able to get out and about. For some, their day at this club is the only opportunity they have to meet other.
